Meet our executive head chef: Sean Spellman

Having graduated with his culinary degree in 1982 from world-renowned Johnson and Wales University, Sean Spellman began his career as the innovative head chef that he continues to be today.
Spellman has since worked at numerous prominent restaurants along the New England Seacoast stretching from Newburyport, MA to Portland, ME, but for the lucky residents and vacationers of the Southern Maine Seacoast, he has been utilizing his kitchen creativity for the past decade. His creativity can be attributed to having mastered many varieties of cuisine including his favorites: Greek, Italian and Contemporary American. Not until 2005 did Spellman become part of our beloved Old Village Inn family, where upon he secured his menu as one of the most popular among the Ogunquit diners. Maybe it’s the close relationship with local purveyors, guaranteeing the freshest quality ingredients, or the fact that Spellman is a master chemist with sauces and stocks, but the resounding approbation is quantifiable by the satisfied dinner guests that return time and time again. To say Spellman is imaginative is an understatement, however, on a nightly basis, one can gauge this assertion by trying one of Executive Chef Spellman’s Specials.
